Who we are

SiteKnight ("we," "us," "our") builds and manages websites for small, medium, and local businesses. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, why, and what we do with it.

Information you give us

When you fill out our contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, email address, phone number (if you include it), your business name (if you include it), and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you and discuss working together. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it for marketing.

How the contact form works

Our contact form is handled by Netlify Forms (our website host). When you submit the form, your information is transmitted to and stored by Netlify so we can receive it, and it's delivered to our email. Netlify processes this data on our behalf; you can review Netlify's privacy practices on their website.

Email

If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we keep that correspondence so we can help you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (for example, which pages are viewed and how people found us) so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect standard information like your approximate location, device and browser type, and pages visited. This data is aggregated and used to understand site usage; we don't use it to personally identify you. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and you can control cookies through your browser settings. For more on how Google handles this data, see Google's privacy policy.

Cookies

Aside from the cookies used by Google Analytics described above, our site does not use tracking or advertising cookies.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't run advertising networks on our site. We don't collect sensitive personal information through our website.

How long we keep information

We keep contact-form submissions and correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and, if we work together, to provide our services, plus a reasonable period after. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. To do any of these, email us at jake@thesiteknight.com and we'll take care of it.

Third parties we rely on

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run our business, including our website host (Netlify), our email forwarding provider, and Google Analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and have their own privacy policies.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date at the top, which reflects the date of the most recent update. Continuing to use our site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
